A Bit More About Me

Happy Spooner is the travel diary of a Tennessee native living in London, United Kingdom.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, I studied architecture at the University of Virginia where my love of travel began during a study abroad trip to Vicenza, Italy. Following graduation in 2008 I bought a one way plane ticket to Australia where I spent 9 months in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, and New Zealand. I ended my gap year early, originally planning on traveling for 2 years, and returned stateside for a boy. Easily the best decision I ever made.

After living in the Northern Virginia area (with an amazing view that must be mentioned) for 4 years, both my boyfriend and I decided to pursue master’s degrees abroad, he in France and myself in Sweden. After a fabulous two years in Scandinavia, in the summer of 2014 we reunited in London. Here we are now.

On December 6th, 2014 we finally upped the ante and took a ‘winning’ trip to Las Vegas. With just our immediate families and a little help from Elvis, at The Little Vegas Chapel we had a merry ol’ time. Wink wink!
