Passing through Brighton

The Brighton Marine Palace and Pier

The Brighton Marine Palace and Pier

For this recent Valentine’s Day weekend, Ben and I took the quick one hour train ride south from London to Brighton, as our final destination was only a few miles outside of the coastal city. We only had time to explore a fragment of the city – including very unexpectedly stumbling upon the Royal Pavillon, wandering through The Lanes, and playing an arcade game or two on Brighton Pier.

I guess my age would be showing to admit I found Eastbourne more appealing? Not that Brighton was unappealing… it just felt young and college’y, with a bit too much dirt and not enough clean green. I would though ironically be interested in exploring the boardwalk and pier during high summer, both for the assumed high energy atmosphere and eclectic people watching.
